Haha! I doubt it. Marketing is not in my blood...it's pretty much my worst nightmare, to be honest. :) By the way, your book is still sitting here in my "to be read" pile. If my writing program would stop assigning so many books, I might get to it sooner!
On another note, do you feel like LinkedIn has helped you as a writer?
You can't possibly hate book marketing more than I do. It's so unnatural to me. I hate being salesy!
Unlike most people who say LinkedIn doesn't help, it has truly helped me. Not only did I find my main editor who was excellent, but I found professional editors and authors from all over the globe who were always willing to help me and answer my questions, no matter how dumb the question might seem.
I was also able to find web designers who generously gave their time to help me set up my website, which i would never have been able to figure out on my own.
If used properly, LinkedIn can be an excellent tool for a new author.
Oh, and no hurry on reading my book, Tiffany. My wife is still only on page 9, and she's had two years to read it...lol
Yes, I've liked connecting with other writers there (such as yourself). People are really supportive. I mean you have to deal with those private messages asking if you want your book promoted. I'm thinking, did you even read my profile? Which of course, they didn't.
As someone whose only social media is a LinkedIn account, I totally agree with your article, and view on social media.
Also, now that you've taken that book marketing course, maybe you can tell me what I'm doing wrong :)
Oh, and yes...Scout is adorable!

Lol! Well, that makes me feel better.

But it's been great apart from that!
So well said. This is one of my favorite things that you’ve written. I wholeheartedly agree...and commiserate. 🤍
I know you do! It's such a hard thing to wrestle through.
