My friends!
I have been so excited about the relaunching of my Substack page and getting started with this new endeavor. Originally, I scheduled the relaunch for the first week of April, but the truth is, I simply can’t wait!
As I mentioned in my final Holding All of It post, when I began my Substack endeavor a year ago I was unclear of my direction as a writer. I was tinkering with a bit of everything, and while I enjoyed all of it, in the end, nothing set me on fire like writing fiction. Once I settled on the pursuit of novel writing, I knew my newsletter focus needed to change.
SO, after much contemplation and prayer, my new Substack plan has come to light, and given my anticipation to get started (and the fact that my new headshots came back earlier than expected), I decided to get things rolling this week…I mean, why wait?
So, without any further fanfare or hemming and hawing, I would like to introduce…
Faith & Fiction with Tiffany Link
Faith & Fiction is a weekly Substack page devoted to the intersection between faith and story.
In my initial drafting stage, I planned on continuing my prior rhythm of posting every other week. However, the more I dream, journal, and plan content, I think a shorter post every week makes more sense. There is much to discuss!
Here is some of what I have planned:
Author’s Corner: These posts will be short updates from my writing life, including updates on my manuscript, my MFA journey, my current read, and how these things are forming my relationship with God and my growth as a believer.
Book Recommendations: Straightforward enough. These posts will be dedicated to one or more books with a few words on why I find them good, true, and/or beautiful, especially in ways that inform faith.
Author Interviews: These posts will be in a Q & A interview format where I interview Christian authors about their work, their journey, favorite books, and how the writing and reading of literature has formed their spiritual journey.
Reader Interviews: Similar to the author interviews, in a Q & A format we will delve into the reading lives of others. We will talk about favorite books, recommendations on how to form a reading rhythm, and how story has influenced their walk with the Lord. I’m very excited about these posts. I love to learn from other readers!
Month-long Focuses: A few times a year we will enter a month-long focus in specific genres and categories. Here’s what I have planned: Memoir May, Back-to-School September (A month of children’s literature recommendations), Nonfiction November, and Film February (A month of diving into film adaptations from books).
I do realize memoirs and nonfiction don’t precisely fit my Faith & Fiction title. Memoirs, however, read like fiction…and well, I just like them. And my nonfiction recommendations will still fall under the faith category…combined we still have faith and fiction. 😊
Other: I want to stay flexible and be open to whatever else comes our way. Perhaps a podcast or article recommendation. Here and there I’ll pen short articles on story and faith as thoughts come my way. For example, my next post will zero in on why story is important and how fiction can uniquely form our Christian character. In essence, why Faith & Fiction exists and matters.
Again, I’m so excited about this new venture. I want to promote other writers and their work, and I want to build a readership for my own work, too. But in the end, I just love talking faith and books!
I hope my earlier subscribers will stay with me for this new phase of the journey, and that this new page will feed your souls and minds with good things, ultimately nurturing your faith and your growth as a human.
New subscribers will receive a free PDF of my Writer’s Digest Short Short Story, Hope Never Stops-at All. I hope you’ll join me!
Blessings in books,
Tiffany
